Arquiste
Nanban
Picture dark wood and old money. That is the first ten seconds of Arquiste Nanban.

How it moves
You meet bergamot and elemi at the door. Underneath, oud, tobacco and incense settle in and take over. The base is leather, sandalwood, vanilla and amber. That is the bit on your scarf the next morning.

Who made it
Yann Vasnier composed it in 2014, for Arquiste in United States. Carlos Huber, an architect and historian, builds each Arquiste around a documented moment; Nanban recreates a 1620 samurai delegation's trade cargo of oud, tobacco and leather.
