Terms of use
Plain-English terms for using FragDNA. They are short because the deal is simple: we show you honest comparisons for free, you use them fairly.

Who we are
FragDNA (fragdna.com) is run by Synthetic White AB, a company registered in Sweden ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
What this site is
FragDNA is a free information and comparison service. We do not sell fragrance, hold stock, or process payments. Every purchase happens on a third party's site under their terms, and any problem with an order — delivery, refunds, the product itself — is between you and that shop.
Accuracy, and what a "dupe" is
We work to keep matches and prices correct, but they change and we will sometimes be wrong. Prices in particular are indicative — the retailer's own price at the moment of purchase is the real one. Check before you buy.
When we say an alternative "shares the DNA" of an original we mean it is reported to smell substantially alike — not that it is identical, made from the same materials, or made or approved by the original house. Reviews written from notes "on paper" are comparisons of published information, not a wearing test. How the matching works explains the limits.
Your skin, your health
Fragrances can cause irritation or allergic reactions, and alternatives are made by different companies to different standards. Read the ingredients on the product you buy, patch-test if you are sensitive, and follow the maker's instructions. Nothing on FragDNA is medical advice.
Shop links, affiliate commission and sponsored places
Some links to shops earn us a commission if you buy. That never changes your price or our ranking — see the affiliate disclosure. Anything a company has paid to be shown is labelled Sponsored and kept separate from the ranking. Linking to a shop is not a promise that the shop is reliable.
Trade marks
All brand and product names belong to their owners. They are used here only to identify and compare products, which is lawful referential use. FragDNA is independent of, and not endorsed by, every house named on this site. If you own a mark and believe we have used it unfairly, write to us and we will look at it promptly.
Your account
Accounts are free and optional; you sign in with Google and must be at least 16. Keep your Google account secure — what is done through your FragDNA account is your responsibility. You can stop using the site at any time and ask us to delete your account.
What you post
Reviews, ratings, votes and forum posts must be your own honest experience. You keep ownership of what you write, and you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to publish, display, translate, excerpt and quote it on FragDNA and in our newsletter and social channels — with your display name — for as long as it stays up. When you delete it, the licence ends, apart from copies already sent out (an email that has gone out cannot be recalled).
Do not post anything that:
- is fake, paid for or written for a brand or shop without saying so;
- harasses, threatens or demeans anyone, or is hateful;
- shares someone else's personal details;
- is spam, advertising, or links to counterfeit goods;
- copies someone else's work, or breaks the law.
Posts are checked automatically before they appear, and moderators may hide or remove anything that breaks these rules and suspend accounts that keep doing it. If you think we got it wrong, tell us and a person will review it.
Our content and data
The articles, reviews, photographs, design and the FragDNA database of matches and prices belong to us or to the people who licensed them to us. You are welcome to read, share links, and quote short passages with a link back to the page. Search engines and AI assistants may crawl the site within our robots.txt, and we are glad when they cite us. What you may not do without written permission is copy the database or large parts of the site in bulk, republish it, or use automated tools to download it at volume — including to build a competing service. For research or press use of our data, write to us; we usually say yes.
Using the site fairly
Do not try to break, overload or get round the security of the site, access the admin area or other people's accounts, manipulate votes or rankings, or use FragDNA to do anything unlawful.

Emails are sent only if you asked for them and confirmed your address, and every one has a one-click unsubscribe. See the privacy policy.
Liability
The site is free and provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what a retailer does, for a product you buy elsewhere, for prices or availability that changed, for the site being briefly unavailable, or for decisions made on information found here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your rights as a consumer under Swedish and EU law.
Changes
We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top shows when; if a change matters, we will say so on the site. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
Law and disputes
Swedish law applies, and Swedish courts decide disputes — but if you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country and may bring a claim there. Please write to us first; most things are fixed faster by email than by anything else.
