How it moves

It arrives on black pepper, cardamom, juniper, pink pepper and cumin — bright, immediate, gone before you have decided about it. Then the heart turns up — patchouli, nutmeg, iris and amberwood — and the whole thing slows down. By evening it is incense, amber, agarwood oud, vanilla and tonka bean, and it is better for it.
