How it moves
The first breath is water notes, bergamot, grapefruit and calone, and it is loud about it. Then the heart turns up — basil, floral notes, jasmine and sage — and the whole thing slows down. Last to go: pepper, cedar, musk, vetiver, ambergris and patchouli.
Who made it
Alberto Morillas composed it in 2012, for Giorgio Armani in Italy. The 2012 Essenza was the first Acqua di Gio to move into eau de parfum concentration, adding pepper, vetiver and ambergris beneath the original calone freshness.
