Ani

Nishane Ani begins with ginger and bergamot, and does not apologise for either.

How it moves

It arrives on ginger, bergamot, pink pepper and green notes — bright, immediate, gone before you have decided about it. By the half hour it has become black currant, Turkish Rose and cardamom. The base is patchouli, cedar, vanilla, benzoin, ambergris, musk and sandalwood. That is the bit on your scarf the next morning.

What wearers say

4.2 out of 5 across 6,500 ratings — well loved, and not quietly.

  • Widely loved as a warm, cozy vanilla-and-spice scent that reads as versatile and easy to wear.
  • Praised for strong longevity and a smooth, sweet gourmand-adjacent profile suited to cooler weather.
  • Some feel it is pleasant but generic or overpriced for what is essentially a polished sweet vanilla.

Who made it

Cécile Zarokian composed it in 2019, for Nishane in Turkey. Named after the ancient Armenian city Ani, Nishane's crowd-pleasing extrait by Cecile Zarokian became a signature bestseller of sweet, spiced vanilla-rose warmth.
