How it moves

Blackberry, frankincense, labdanum, orange, coriander and tarragon hit first, the way an opening line should. Then the heart turns up — honey, guaiac wood, cinnamon, clove, bay leaf and rose — and the whole thing slows down. It dries down to opoponax, oud, myrrh, patchouli, ambergris, musk, cedar, immortelle and oakmoss, close to the skin and hard to forget.

Who made it

Bertrand Duchaufour composed it in 2007, for Amouage in Oman. Created by Bertrand Duchaufour to mark Amouage's 25th jubilee, it became a benchmark for luxurious incense-honey oriental perfumery.
