It arrives on aldehydes, lavender and bergamot — bright, immediate, gone before you have decided about it. Then the heart turns up — ylang-ylang, orange blossom and herbs — and the whole thing slows down. What is left hours later is oakmoss, civet and ambergris, and that is the part people follow you for.

Who made it
Antonio Gardoni composed it in 2014, for Bogue Profumo in Italy. Gardoni, an architect turned self-taught perfumer working out of Brescia, built MEM as a colossal overdose of lavender and aldehydes over animalic depths.
