It arrives on tuberose, violet and marigold — bright, immediate, gone before you have decided about it. Then the heart turns up — jasmine, magnolia rose and iris — and the whole thing slows down. By evening it is vanilla, honeysuckle, heliotrope and immortelle, and it is better for it.
