Ormonde Jayne Byzance begins with bergamot and pink pepper, and does not apologise for either.
How it moves
It arrives on bergamot, pink pepper and saffron — bright, immediate, gone before you have decided about it. Then the heart turns up — rose, incense and labdanum — and the whole thing slows down. It dries down to amber, sandalwood, musk and benzoin, close to the skin and hard to forget.
Who made it
Geza Schoen composed it in 2019, for Ormonde Jayne in United Kingdom. Part of the Privé collection sold from the house's Old Bond Street boutique, an opulent amber-incense composition evoking Byzantium. Higher concentration than the main line.
