The best perfume dupe finders in 2026, compared
Nine places to find the cheaper perfume that smells like the one you love, and how each decides what counts as a dupe.
You love a perfume and not its price. Where do you go to find the cheaper one that smells like it? There are nine serious places to look in 2026, and they work very differently. This is how they compare, side by side.
Full disclosure: FragDNA publishes this page and is one of the nine. So we kept to what can be checked: every other tool's figures are quoted from its own website, linked, as read on 1 November 2026. If any of them has changed, tell us at marco@fragdna.com and we will correct it.

What actually matters
How a pairing is decided. This is the big one. A dupe list can be built three ways: the shop selling the dupe says which original it copies; members vote that two perfumes smell alike; or software compares the published notes. Votes are useful but noisy. Notes can match while the smell does not. A seller's statement is the only one that tells you what the dupe was made to be.
Price per 100 ml. A 30 ml dupe at $20 and a 100 ml one at $40 are not "$20 versus $40": the second is cheaper. Only a per-100 ml figure compares like with like. More on why.
Size of the map. The more pairings, the better your odds that the perfume you love is on it at all.
The best place for each job
- The biggest map of dupes: FragDNA. 10,770 known dupes from 193 dupe houses, the largest count of the nine, each listed only where the seller states the inspiration, with prices per 100 ml from 96 shops in several countries. Search an original to find its dupes, or a dupe to see what it copies. In 11 languages.
- Checking UK prices: ScentVerdict. The closest to FragDNA in approach, with per-100 ml pricing and live UK listings from 112 retailers, more retailers than we read. Its own pages describe its match scores as calculated from published notes in one place and from community reviews in another, so read the score as a guide.
- "What else smells like this?" for any perfume: Fragrantica and Parfumo. Huge general databases where members vote on what smells similar. Not dupe lists and no per-100 ml prices, but unbeatable for the obscure.
- Real people's verdicts: r/fragranceclones. A large Reddit community where dupe claims get tested and argued over. Search it before a blind buy.
- Trying before buying: The Scent Atlas. Smaller, UK-focused, and it sells £5 samples of the dupes it lists.
Apps like Perfume Picks and extensions like ScentSnap match by notes and show savings. Handy while you shop, but neither states how many dupes it covers.
Our honest advice
Use two: one map to find the candidates, one community to hear how close they really get. On FragDNA, every dupe page also asks the people who wore it. And if the perfume you love is not on any of them, search for it here and press "Find it for me". The most-asked perfumes are added first.
