Rose, cumin, bourbon vetiver — read like that it sounds simple. Le Labo Rose 31 is not.

How it moves

Rose, cumin and bourbon vetiver hit first, the way an opening line should. Then the heart turns up — cedar, agarwood (oud) and guaiac wood — and the whole thing slows down. It dries down to amber, musk, olibanum and cistus labdanum, close to the skin and hard to forget.

What wearers say

4.09 out of 5 across 3,835 ratings — well loved, and not quietly.

  • Reviewers love its dry, spicy woody rose, calling it uniquely masculine-leaning and completely unlike sweet, feminine rose fragrances.
  • The prominent cumin opening divides opinion, but most agree the elegant cedar-and-incense drydown makes it a distinctive signature.

Who made it

Daphné Bugey composed it in 2006, for Le Labo in United States. Created by Daphne Bugey for Le Labo's 2006 debut, this cumin-spiked woody rose became the house's signature and scents Fairmont hotel amenities worldwide.
