How it moves
The first breath is mandarin orange, coriander, plum, clove and bergamot, and it is loud about it. Underneath, myrrh, jasmine, rose, carnation, cinnamon and lily of the valley settle in and take over. The base is opoponax, labdanum, sandalwood, amber, patchouli, castoreum and vanilla. That is the bit on your scarf the next morning.
Who made it
Jean Amic, Jean-Louis Sieuzac composed it in 1977, for Yves Saint Laurent in France. YSL's scandalous 1977 spicy oriental drew protests over its name and became one of the most influential feminines ever made.
