31 Rue Cambon
A vanity table in 1958, then bergamot. Chanel 31 Rue Cambon has a sense of occasion.

How it moves
It arrives on pepper and bergamot — bright, immediate, gone before you have decided about it. By the half hour it has become iris, jasmine and ylang-ylang. The base is patchouli, labdanum and vetiver. That is the bit on your scarf the next morning.
Who made it
Jacques Polge composed it in 2007, for Chanel in France. Named for the address of Chanel's Paris boutique, it is a mossless chypre built on iris, pepper and labdanum.
