Olivier Polge put grapefruit at the front of Chanel Chance Eau Tendre Eau de Parfum and built everything else to hold it there.
How it moves
The first breath is grapefruit, quince and bergamot, and it is loud about it. Then the heart turns up — jasmine, rose and hyacinth — and the whole thing slows down. By evening it is white musk, cedar and amber, and it is better for it.
Who made it
Olivier Polge composed it in 2019, for Chanel in France. The 2019 eau de parfum concentration of Chance Eau Tendre, which quickly outsold the original 2010 eau de toilette.
