How it moves
You meet galbanum, neroli and bergamot at the door. Then the heart turns up — iris, rose, narcissus and lily of the valley — and the whole thing slows down. What is left hours later is oakmoss, vetiver, leather, musk and sandalwood, and that is the part people follow you for.
Who made it
Henri Robert composed it in 1970, for Chanel in France. Launched for Coco Chanel's 87th birthday and named for her August 19 birthdate, a razor-sharp galbanum-iris chypre.
