How it moves
You meet lemon, bergamot, orange and basil at the door. Underneath, rose, carnation, cinnamon, patchouli and jasmine settle in and take over. The base is vanilla, leather, amber, Tonka Bean and sandalwood. That is the bit on your scarf the next morning.
Who made it
Jean-Paul Guerlain composed it in 1965, for Guerlain in France. Jean-Paul Guerlain built it as a masculine reading of Shalimar, named for the red riding coat, and it became the first widely worn oriental fragrance for men.
