1899 Hemingway
Picture old wood warmed by the sun. That is the first ten seconds of Histoires de Parfums 1899 Hemingway.

How it moves
It arrives on mandarin, bergamot, cinnamon and pink pepper — bright, immediate, gone before you have decided about it. By the half hour it has become rum, clove, nutmeg and juniper. Last to go: cedar, Tonka Bean, musk and amber.
Who made it
Gérald Ghislain composed it in 2001, for Histoires de Parfums in France. Named for Ernest Hemingway's birth year, a boozy spiced composition of rum, cinnamon and mandarin evoking a Cuban bar. Part of the house's founding literary library.
