Marc-Antoine Corticchiato composed Parfum d'Empire Musc Tonkin around vanilla, and it shows the longer you wear it.
How it moves
Angelica and coriander hit first, the way an opening line should. Then the heart turns up — musk, civet, leather and rose — and the whole thing slows down. It dries down to musk, castoreum, styrax, amber and vanilla, close to the skin and hard to forget.
Who made it
Marc-Antoine Corticchiato composed it in 2012, for Parfum d'Empire in France. An extrait recreating the effect of natural Tonkin musk using modern materials, originally a limited edition that became permanent by demand. One of the most convincing animalic musks in production.
