Wazamba
Picture a bowl of stone fruit in August. That is the first ten seconds of Parfum d'Empire Wazamba.

How it moves
You meet apple, pepper and cypress at the door. Then the heart turns up — incense, myrrh, opoponax and fir — and the whole thing slows down. By evening it is sandalwood, labdanum, vetiver and musk, and it is better for it.
Who made it
Marc-Antoine Corticchiato composed it in 2009, for Parfum d'Empire in France. An African-inspired incense built on myrrh, apple and fir resin, named for a Cameroonian musical instrument. Widely admired for its balance of resin and fruit.
