Vanilia
Vanilla turned slow and dark, then mandarin. L'Artisan Parfumeur Vanilia has a sense of occasion.

How it moves
The first breath is bergamot, mandarin and coconut, and it is loud about it. Ylang-ylang, carnation and jasmine are where it actually lives. The base is vanilla, Tonka Bean, amber and musk. That is the bit on your scarf the next morning.
Who made it
Jean Laporte composed it in 1978, for L'Artisan Parfumeur in France. One of Jean Laporte's earliest compositions, a vanilla lifted with ylang-ylang and citrus rather than buried in sugar. A very early example of the niche vanilla.
