Borneo 1834
Christopher Sheldrake put cardamom at the front of Serge Lutens Borneo 1834 and built everything else to hold it there.

How it moves
The first breath is cardamom and galbanum, and it is loud about it. By the half hour it has become patchouli and cocoa. The base is labdanum, cistus and white musk. That is the bit on your scarf the next morning.
Who made it
Christopher Sheldrake composed it in 2005, for Serge Lutens in France. Named for the year patchouli reached Europe, it presents dry Indonesian patchouli with cocoa and cardamom rather than the usual hippie sweetness. A benchmark patchouli.
