Datura Noir
If mandarin and bitter almond were a person, they would be Serge Lutens Datura Noir.

How it moves
The first breath is mandarin and bitter almond, and it is loud about it. Underneath, tuberose, heliotrope, osmanthus and coconut settle in and take over. The base is musk, vanilla and Tonka Bean. That is the bit on your scarf the next morning.
Who made it
Christopher Sheldrake composed it in 2001, for Serge Lutens in France. Named for the narcotic datura flower, it pairs coconut, almond and tuberose into a milky, faintly hallucinatory white floral. A cult favourite of the export line.
