Rousse
A church after the candles go out, then clove. Serge Lutens Rousse has a sense of occasion.

How it moves
It arrives on mandarin and clove — bright, immediate, gone before you have decided about it. Underneath, cinnamon, carnation and pink pepper settle in and take over. What is left hours later is amber, musk and cedar, and that is the part people follow you for.
Who made it
Christopher Sheldrake composed it in 2007, for Serge Lutens in France. A cinnamon-dominant composition named for a redhead, pairing hot spice with mandarin and clove. One of the most literal spice studies in the export line.
