Serge Lutens Féminité du Bois has been doing this since 1992, and nobody has done cedar better since.
How it moves
The first breath is cedar, plum and peach, and it is loud about it. Then the heart turns up — cinnamon, clove, orange blossom and violet — and the whole thing slows down. Last to go: sandalwood, musk, beeswax and vanilla.
Who made it
Pierre Bourdon composed it in 1992, for Serge Lutens in France. Created for Shiseido in 1992 by Pierre Bourdon and Christopher Sheldrake, it was the first fragrance built around Moroccan Atlas cedar and rewrote what a woody feminine could be. Serge Lutens reissued it under his own name in 2009.
